The great St. Peter’s Basilica, the most important of the Christian world, is the monument that manages to bring together in one place the faithful and lovers of art. It is dedicated to Peter, the first among the Apostles, the first Pope and head of the Church.
To know the origins of the Basilica, one must go back in time almost two thousand years. It was no accident that arose in this place, but it was built where the Apostle was killed and then buried.
Pietro, so named because it chose to be the “rock” on which to build the Church, was the more enterprising among the Apostles: it suffered jail and was miraculously delivered, left Jerusalem to come to Rome, center of the Roman Empire. Here was the first bishop and pope for 25 years.
Very close to these wonderful places with a “History” millennial, is the Ristorante Taverna Lino, where you can enjoy a great meal, delight your palate with typical Roman dishes during a break before continuing their journey to discover Rome!
